Deleting your account

How to delete your account and your data

You can do it yourself in the app, or ask us in one email. Either way it is free, we do not ask why, and nothing about it is designed to slow you down.

On this page

  2. Without opening the app
  3. Deleting only part of your data, and keeping your account
  4. What deleting your whole account removes
  5. What is kept, and why

  7. If something goes wrong

From inside the app — the quickest way

Open Jeevrit, go to the You tab, then “Privacy and account”, then “Data and account”, and choose “Delete account”. You will be asked to confirm, because it cannot be undone and there is no grace period.

Your account is signed out straight away and the deletion runs on our side. You do not need to email anyone.

Only want your Women’s Health records gone? “Delete Women’s Health data”, under More inside Women’s Health, removes that module’s records and leaves the rest of your account untouched.

Without opening the app

Write to privacy@jeevrit.com from the email address you signed up with, and ask for your account to be deleted. That is the whole requirement: no form, no account needed, no reason to give.

If you cannot write from that address, send the request anyway and say which address the account uses. We will ask you to confirm in a way that proves the account is yours, because deleting somebody else’s account on request would be the worse failure.

Requests are answered by Harsh Srivastava, sole proprietor trading as Jeevrit, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India — the Data Fiduciary and Grievance Officer under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Deleting only part of your data, and keeping your account

You do not have to delete everything to delete something. Each of these works on its own, takes effect straight away, and needs no request to us:

  • One entry — open it from the Journal or Today, and choose Delete. That meal, water, sleep, weight or energy log is gone.
  • Your Women’s Health records — inside Women’s Health, under More, choose “Delete Women’s Health data”. It removes cycles, symptoms, sexual-health entries and everything else in that module, and leaves the rest of your account untouched.
  • A meal photo or a voice note — delete the entry it belongs to, and the file goes with it.
  • Anything you agreed to optionally — open You, then Privacy and account, and withdraw that consent. Processing for it stops at once, and where the feature holds records, withdrawing offers to remove them.
  • A connection to Health Connect — under Connected apps, “Disconnect & delete imports” removes what was imported and tells you how many records went.

If what you want removed is not in that list, write to privacy@jeevrit.com naming it, and we will delete it and tell you when it is done. We answer within 30 days, and normally the same week.

What deleting your whole account removes

Everything that is about you:

  • Your account and sign-in, so the email can no longer be used to log in.
  • Your profile, goals, and the health details you chose to give — conditions, medicines, allergies, limits, and pregnancy or breastfeeding status.
  • Everything you logged: meals, water, sleep, activity, energy, weight, and how you got on with your plans.
  • Your plans, reports, reviews, streaks, garden, awards, and any links to a witness.
  • Your Women’s Health records, including cycles, symptoms and anything under sexual health.
  • Your chat history with Jivi.
  • Your uploads — meal photos, voice recordings and any documents — removed from file storage.
  • Any connection to Health Connect, and the records imported through it.

The deletion is permanent. We cannot restore an account afterwards, and neither can we recover anything in it, so please export your data first if you want to keep a copy — the app’s Account screen can prepare one.

What is kept, and why

Three narrow things survive the deletion, none of which can be used to build a profile of you:

  • A minimal record that you consented to what, and when, and that a deletion was asked for and carried out. Indian law requires us to be able to show this, and it is reduced to the least that can answer the question.
  • Security records, kept for the shortest time we can and to the minimum needed to investigate abuse or a breach.
  • Technical records that keep the service running, such as error logs, with personal details removed. These age out on their own.

Nothing on this list is used for personalisation, for training an AI model, or for marketing. If you had asked for a copy of your data in the week before deleting, that download expires and is destroyed automatically after seven days.

How long it takes

Deletion starts the moment the request is made, and normally finishes within an hour. Our commitment is that it is done within 30 days at the very latest, and we will tell you if anything holds it up.

Backups are the one place a copy can linger. Backup copies roll over on their own schedule, and any that still hold your data are overwritten within 30 days. Nothing is restored from a backup into the live service.

If something goes wrong

Write to privacy@jeevrit.com and say what happened. That address reaches the person who can act on it, not a queue.

If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
